Comments: The rusted, broken down corpse of an old Studebaker truck sat in the field behind my grandpa's barn,
along with his harvester and other such things. When he died and the farm sold, I took the name plate and the hood
ornament off the truck. Now that I am waxing nostalgic about my past in Georgia, I am looking for a truck to fit under
the ornament. I want one that I don't have to restore myself...I don't know the first thing about that. I just have
this desire to own one. I believe the year was somewhere between 1947 and 1955, but don't quote me.

Comments: Ive been looin for truck folks. Ive got a 61 and 63 half ton. Im parting out the 63 but as yet it is still
rebuildable but would need a cab engine and running gear. If I had a Lark that had rearend damage I could easily
rebuild the 63 but I have enough other Studes Im looking for someone who wants what is left to make a pickup out of
it. The truck is not a stepside and I was planning to put the bed on my other truck but its too much hassle. If someone
is interested I can send a photo The truck is still towable on a dolly

From a 1939 K-10 through a couple of 56 pickups,some 4WD's and 3 Diesels. My Mom's 56 Parkview wagon and a 54 hardtop
are also in the collection. If any of you out there need some information on any stude truck parts interchange or
technical jargon, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Comments: I just completed looking at every photo and link you have on this site. It is great. I am an old Stude Fan
from way back in high school. I had a 1951 4 door Land Cruiser with V-8. Back then it was considered the ugliest
vehicle on the school parking lot. Today it would be a terrific street rod project. Since I cannot get another great
original Studebaker, I did the next best thing ! What you are about to hear will probably upset a lot of Dodge Fans
and also a lot of Studebaker Fans. I just purchased a new 1999 Dodge Dakota and the first thing I did was to remove
the Dodge logo from the tail gate and replace it with "Studebaker". Next to come off are the "Dakota" logos on the doors.
That will be replaced with "Champion". A super friend of mine in Oregon gave me an original horn button from a very old
Studebaker. I polished it up (Brass) and will use it to replace the Dodge Hood Ornament. Boy, do I get a lot
of comments ~ both pro and con. I will sent you a photo of the hood and doors when I complete them. I will send a
photo of the tail gate now by e-mail. Keep up the great site ! !

Comments: Have a 1949 Studebaker M5. I purchased only the rolling chassis from a fellow that used the body to make a
street rod. It came from Wisconsin, originally. The truck only had 40,000 miles. It had the 4 speed optional T-9 tranny.
I have shortened the frame 41" from a 113' to a 72" wheelbase. I am converting to a "short dog" farm vehicle.
Looking for the tranny mounted park brake assembly used on the large models. Need complete assembly. Know of any?

the body is straight, aside from a dent in the passenger side door. The shop teacher says it's a 49, but the registration
says it's a 53. How can I tell the difference? What were the original paint jobs like? How can I appraise my Stude?
Also, do you know anyone who wants a 51 Chevy 1/2 ton? - it runs but it needs a lot of body work.

Comments: I own a 49 one ton c cab with a flathead 6 and 4 speed transmission, I drove it back from Beaver Dam Wisc
on thanksgiving weekend in 1994 I am in the process of trying to restore it back to orginal.I just put a new mastercylinder
brake lines and a new exhaust and it should be ready for the road by spring. Your truck is a very nice example of how
well studebakers were built

Comments: Super cool truck I had one years ago. The last 15 years I've driven my 57 Transtar Deluxe every summer since
I found it in a farmers field in Elk Grove Calif. after sitting for three years, I drove it home. I approached another
farmer out there about another one that is just sitting in mud for atleast 18 years, well he ran me off shaking a shovel
at me. What a shame. I kept it up a couple of more times but no luck.

Comments: Have always enjoyed the appearance of Stude trucks. My ex-father-in-law had several
(including a 1939 Express Coupe). Presently have a 1949 F-1 Ford, but hope to "upgrade" to one of those futuristic
Stude's one day.

Comments: GREAT TO SEE ANOTHER TRUCK OWNER TAKE TIME TO SHOW A CLASS ACT. I CURRENTLY OWN A 1949 2R-15 THAT I SAVED OUT
OF A PIG LOT 15 YEARS AGO. IT GAVE ME AND MY DAD LOTS OF FUN AND EVEN A FEW HEADACHES. ALSO IN MY GARAGE (IF I EVER GET
ONE BUILT) IS A 1939 2 TON FIRE TRUCK THAT I FOUND IN A BUILDING THAT AN OLD CAR DEALER OWNED. AND WAS FIRST BOUGHT BY
MY HOMETOWN FIRE DEPT. NOW MY NEWEST FIND ARE TWO LARKS, ONE IS A 64 AND THE OTHER IS A 65. TO PUT IT NICELY THEY WERE
"GOING TO THE GREAT RECYCLE BIN IN THE SKY " BEFORE I TALKED MY WIFE INTO GIVING THEM A NEW HOME. AGAIN GOOD LUCK WITH
YOUR SITE.AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO E-MAIL ME BACK SEARCH YAHOO FOR THE HUTSONVILLE FIRE DEPT WEB SITE AND SEND ME
A MESSAGE THERE. OUR CHIEF WILL NOT MIND.
